Kelanawisata.id, Yogyakarta – A number of young customers, accompanied by senior executives from PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), explored the tranquility of Goa Cemara Beach in Bantul to take part in a wellness tourism program entitled ‘Moekti Dirt’ on Thursday (3 September 2026). This initiative, a collaboration with the Borobudur Authority Executive Agency (BPOB) and Ramen Jawi, represents a concrete step towards providing an alternative form of tourism – moving beyond mere destination visits to offer a deeper, activity-based experience.

The soft sound of the participants’ footsteps echoed across the sandy beach as they began their journey. Under the shade of the lush Camera Forest, which provided a cool and tranquil atmosphere, the group—comprising young customers and BCA’s management team—began their ritual of seeking inner peace. The presence of BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono alongside other executives, such as Indrawn B (EVE), Evi Jo (SVP), and Vice Presidents Titi Yusnarti, Lies Rusmawati and Linda Jeni, demonstrated the bank’s commitment to supporting a healthy lifestyle and sustainable tourism.

A New Paradigm for Event-Based Tourism

The Director of Tourism Marketing at BOB, Harfiansa Bimatara, who was also present at the event, emphasized that the future of tourism is no longer solely about massive physical infrastructure development. He advocated for more efficient yet impactful development through wellness-based tourism packages. In his view, investing in experience-based tourism such as Moekti Dirt is far more sustainable than relying solely on location’s appeal.

Harfiansa explained that tourism development is no longer solely destination-based due to the enormous demands of infrastructure investment. Through Moekti Dirt, the organizers are offering an alternative form of investment that addresses the human and mental wellbeing of tourists, whilst also serving as a breakthrough in introducing a more diverse range of tourism options in the Yogyakarta region and its surroundings.

The Harmony of Philosophical Principles and Wellbeing

The Chair of the DIY Regional Tourism Promotion Board (BPPD), GKR Bendara, was also present to offer an in-depth interpretation of the link between Yogyakarta’s imaginary axis and the concept of wellness tourism. During the session, she outlined a spatial planning vision that respects nature, in which the community is guided to face the coast and rivers as integral parts of their primary living spaces, rather than turning their backs on them.

In addition, GR Bandera also spoke about wellness tourism at the forthcoming Jogja Culture Wellness Festival. This event offers an alternative form of tourism for those seeking to improve their wellbeing.

Nowadays, tourism is no longer merely about seeking inner fulfillment, but also offers tranquility and peace amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Moekti Dirt event culminated in a contemplative mindfulness session amidst the gentle sea breeze. As a symbol of sustainability and new hope, the participants concluded the series of events by releasing baby turtles back into the ocean. This activity not only provided spiritual tranquility for BCA’s young customers but also reinforced the position of Goa Camera Beach as a high-quality tourist destination that combines nature conservation with mental wellbeing.
