Kelanawisata.id, Sleman - The closing ceremony of the 2025 Hamong Nagari exhibition was held at the Jogja Kembali Monument. On Saturday afternoon (August 23), attendees began arriving to watch the event. The Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra performed at the closing of the Hamong Nagari Exhibition. The Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra is an orchestra group from the Yogyakarta Palace.
The Hamong Nagari Exhibition was closed by Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Bendara (GKR Bendara). The event continued with a performance by the Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra. The spirit of independence surged during this Independence Day Concert. In this performance, the YRO performed 11 songs with themes of struggle and independence.
The songs performed ranged from national anthems, pop songs, and Javanese melodies. The 11 songs performed were Hari Merdeka, Melati di Tapal Batas, Sorak Bergembira, Sersan Mayorku, Kopral Jono, Kuwi opo Kuwi, Ketawang Ibu Pertiwi, Pahlawan Merdeka, Sepasang Mata Bola, and Di Timur Matahari.
The event began at 7:00 PM WIB. The Kamardikan Concert started shortly after His Majesty Sultan Hamengku Buwono X arrived. The audience then stood and sang “Indonesia Raya.” The song “Hari Merdeka” opened the Kamardikan Concert series during the Closing Night of the Hamong Nagari Exhibition.
The Closing Night of the Hamong Nagari Exhibition and the Kamardikan Concert also marked the launch of the website tourism.kratonjogja.id as the official tourism channel for the royal palace. “Every cultural development combined with technology is a way to preserve it,” stated GKR Bendara in her remarks that evening (August 23).
The Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra has now become a new tourist attraction in Yogyakarta. When tickets for the Kamardikan Concert went on sale, tickets for out-of-town residents sold out immediately. Similarly, tickets for residents also sold out within a short time. Observed at the venue, a number of walk-in attendees were seen queuing to secure seats. Public enthusiasm for the Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra is extremely high.
