Kelanawisata.id, Wonosobo — A total of 19 tourism businesses in Wonosobo Regency have officially received the CHSE Certification as a form of commitment to improving tourism services that are clean, healthy, safe, and environmentally sustainable.

The certificates were issued by the Director of the Tourism Business Certification Body (LSUP) Bhakti Mandiri Wisata Indonesia, Hairullah Ghazali, and symbolically handed over by the Regent of Wonosobo, Afif Nurhidayat, to 19 tourism business operators on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Pendopo Belakang of Wonosobo Regency.

This certification was carried out independently by each tourism business as a reflection of awareness, responsibility, and commitment to meeting national tourism service standards while creating a safe, comfortable, high-quality, and sustainable tourism environment.

Regent Afif Nurhidayat emphasized that CHSE certification is a crucial step in building a professional and competitive tourism sector. He highlighted that tourism development must go hand in hand with infrastructure improvement, event organization, and human resource readiness.

He also underlined the philosophy of tourism service, stating that visitors should be treated as honored guests. A positive experience, he noted, will encourage tourists to return with family and friends while promoting Wonosobo tourism through word of mouth.

Furthermore, the Regent expressed hope that the tourism sector would generate tangible economic benefits not only for business operators but also for the wider community. He encouraged the Tourism and Culture Office of Wonosobo Regency to become a supportive hub and entry point for tourism development. He also proposed future government support in the form of certification subsidies to motivate more businesses to obtain CHSE certification.

Meanwhile, Hairullah Ghazali explained that the certification process itself is relatively straightforward, but it requires strong commitment. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), he stressed, must not only be documented but consistently implemented.

The CHSE certification focuses on key aspects such as cleanliness, health, and safety, including the application of international standards like ISO. The certificate is valid for three years, with annual surveillance conducted as part of sustainable tourism development. Certified businesses are also permitted to use the SNI logo in accordance with applicable regulations.

Head of the Tourism and Culture Office of Wonosobo, Fahmi Hidayat, added that CHSE certification is a strategic step in improving service quality while demonstrating the seriousness of tourism businesses in meeting established standards.

From the industry side, a representative of tourism business operators, Nurholis, shared feedback from visitors and noted that some operators still need to better understand standard service procedures.

Support also came from the Chairman of Commission B of the Wonosobo Regional House of Representatives, Aziz Nuri Haryono, who expressed full backing for tourism development initiatives, including independent CHSE certification efforts.
