Kelanawisata.id, Wonosobo – The Wonosobo Regency Government officially kicked off the series of events commemorating the 201st Anniversary of Wonosobo Regency with the “Pasrah Tampi Panji Miwah Pusaka Pagetan Ambal Warsa Kaping-201” Procession on Thursday (July 2, 2026) at the courtyard of the Wonosobo Regent’s Office. This sacred procession, rich in historical and cultural significance, marked the start of the Banner and Heirloom Parade throughout Wonosobo Regency as a means to strengthen the spirit of unity, cultural preservation, and community participation in regional development.

This year’s procession began with the handover of the banner to Watumalang Subdistrict, followed by a relay to the other 14 subdistricts until it reached all 265 villages in Wonosobo Regency.

Wonosobo Regent Afif Nurhidayat stated that the “Pasrah Tampi Panji” is not merely an annual ceremony, but a significant moment to reflect on the region’s historical journey and to strengthen the shared commitment to developing Wonosobo Regency.

“The handover of the Panji serves as the opening event for Wonosobo Regency’s anniversary, embodying historical and cultural significance as well as our sense of togetherness as the people of Wonosobo,” he explained.

He further explained that the Procession of the Banner and Heirlooms holds a much deeper meaning than simply the transfer of a regional symbol. The procession represents a collective effort to preserve the noble values inherited from our forebears, ensuring they remain alive and serve as a foundation for development both now and in the future.

The four banners carried in the procession—namely, the Sang Saka Dwi Warna, Catragung Pangayom, Tombak Karawelang Katentreman, and Panji Gegunungan Praja—form a unified symbol reflecting the synergy among all elements of the government and the community.

They convey the message that regional development cannot be carried out in isolation but requires harmonious collaboration between the government, the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and all segments of society, guided by a spirit of mutual cooperation and solidarity.

“The banners we are displaying today represent a shared trust. It serves as a reminder that every step of development must always be grounded in the value of unity, upheld with a spirit of service, and directed toward bringing peace and prosperity to the people of Wonosobo,” he explained.

As the regency marks its 201st anniversary, the Regent urged the entire community to view this anniversary as a moment of renewal to continue regional development with optimism, responsibility, and solidarity.

This is in line with the theme of Wonosobo Regency’s 201st Anniversary, “Nyawiji Makarti, Wonosobo Loh Jinawi.” This theme emphasizes that successful development can only be achieved through unity, synergy, and the collective efforts of all elements of society. This spirit also serves as the foundation for addressing various development challenges, particularly strengthening food and energy security as the foundation for the community’s future.

The regent also emphasized that the flag procession through 15 subdistricts and 265 villages symbolizes that Wonosobo Regency’s anniversary belongs not only to the government but to the entire Wonosobo community.

“Through this procession, we want to bring the spirit of the anniversary to every corner of the villages, so that a sense of belonging, pride, and love for our beloved region can grow,” he said.

Furthermore, the Regent hopes that the entire Anniversary celebration series will provide tangible benefits to the community. In addition to serving as a platform for cultural preservation and the strengthening of regional identity, this occasion is also expected to drive the empowerment of MSMEs, the development of the creative economy, and the utilization of local potential as a source of community well-being.

In its implementation, this year’s Anniversary celebration series has been adapted to various conditions, including the shared economic situation we are facing. Therefore, cultural events in each subdistrict will not be held as they were in previous years.

According to the Regent, this decision does not diminish the significance of the anniversary but rather reflects a spirit of simplicity, wisdom, and social solidarity.

“From this, we learn that togetherness is not always expressed through festivities, but also through mutual understanding and a wise approach to the current situation,” he said.

Following the Pasrah Tampi Panji ceremony, the four honorary banners were then paraded in turn through all subdistricts and villages in Wonosobo Regency. The parade is expected to serve as a means of strengthening ties between the government and the community while reviving the spirit of service, mutual cooperation, and love for Wonosobo Regency.

Concluding his remarks, the Regent called on the entire community to continue uniting to develop the region with the spirit of “Nyawiji Makarti, Wonosobo Loh Jinawi,” so that Wonosobo will always be a progressive, sustainable, safe, and increasingly prosperous region for all its residents.

The Pasrah Tampi Panji procession also marked the beginning of the series of events for Wonosobo Regency’s 201st Anniversary, which not only showcases traditions as cultural heritage but also revives the collective spirit of the community to preserve, nurture, and advance Wonosobo as their shared home.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Wonosobo Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud), Fahmi Hidayat, explained that aside from the Kirab Panji, this year’s 201st Anniversary of Wonosobo Regency is generally not much different from last year’s celebrations.

Various cultural traditions and ceremonies that have come to define the anniversary celebrations are once again being held as a way to honor history, preserve culture, and strengthen the identity of the people of Wonosobo.

“The series of events includes the Pasrah Tampi Panji ceremony, Anniversary Discussions in each subdistrict, the Water Collection Procession from the Six Springs, a Pilgrimage to the Graves of Wonosobo’s Founders, Bedhol Kedhaton, Tapa Bisu, Hastungkara, and Birat Sengkala—all as part of the procession leading up to the climax of the Anniversary celebration,” he explained.

The culmination of the 201st Anniversary of Wonosobo Regency will be held on July 24, 2026, through the “Pisowanan Agung,” featuring traditional ceremonies as a symbol of respect for the history of Wonosobo Regency’s founding. This event will also be enlivened by a Grand Arts Performance, the Ruwat Rambut Gimbal Procession, and a Folk Arts Performance involving artists and the community as a space for cultural expression as well as a regional tourist attraction.

Beyond the main agenda, various supporting activities have been and continue to take place across different regions. These range from social and sports activities, community empowerment, and MSME promotion to various competitions and folk entertainment that involve the broader community. The entire series of activities is expected to strengthen the spirit of togetherness, boost the local economy, and make the commemoration of Wonosobo Regency’s 201st Anniversary even more meaningful for the entire community.
